Bucharest Băneasa Aurel Vlaicu International Airport, located in the Băneasa district, is Romania's oldest continuously operating airport, established in 1920. Originally Bucharest's main airport until 1969, it was repurposed for business aviation in 2012 and reopened for commercial flights in 2022 after extensive renovations.
